The reasons I have for loving you number
Greater than the tears I shed
For knowing and dreading what shall encumber
Me from my heart up to my head:
The weighty shield about my soul,
That let you through so deep,
Fails under your grace, which I extoll,
Which lulls morality to sleep.
And here lies my pain and pitiful desperation
My need to feel your heart so
Close to mine in etheral combination.
Yet the winds of fate do not for this blow,
And leave me here to wallow
In misery and exquisite desire
As I lay here feeling hollow
Underneath this balefire.
And yet I countinue with jubilation
Unwarrented, though felt to full
For this small unfriendly situation
Pains, yet completes me, and makes me whole.
